Calpurnia Okwuone is a Clinical Psychologist with a license as a Psychology Associate in the District of Columbia (DC). Dr. Okwuone earned her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at Walden University after she completed an internship at Midtown Psychological Services in Kansas City conducting evaluations on children, adolescents, and adults. Additionally, during her internship she conducted pre-employment evaluations for the Kansas City Police Department. She has years of experience working with children, specifically in the foster care system as well as working with law enforcement. Dr. Okwuone completed her post-doctoral fellowship with the Metro Politian Police Employee Assistance program in the District of Columbia providing individual and couples therapy, critical incident debriefings, and crisis interventions to metropolitan police officers. She has also worked in the Chicago public schools working with children and adolescents where she conducted individual and group sessions with students, as well as assessing students’ cognitive abilities, academic functioning, behavior, and social-emotional functioning. Dr. Okwuone has experience working as an independent contractor with various psychological practices conducting psychoeducational and comprehensive psychological evaluations for multiple schools in the District of Columbia. Currently, Dr. Okwuone is based at the MECCA Group, LLC, providing school-based services across multiple Public Charter Schools in DC, in addition to providing therapy and assessment services within the MECCA clinic.

Okwuone has specific interests and specialties in assessment and evaluation, in addition to working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavior disabilities. Her main area of interest is focused on providing continuous and comprehensive support to students and individuals, addressing their emotional and behavioral needs to achieve academic success and enhance peoples effectiveness and well-being.
