Arvin Sanders, PhD is currently as licensed psychology associate in Washington, DC. Dr. Sanders received both his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from North Carolina Central University. Dr. Sanders received both his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Clinical Psychology from Howard University.

Dr. Sanders completed a predoctoral residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio where he received extensive training in providing individual and group psychotherapy as well as psychological evaluations with children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient, partial, inpatient, and forensic settings.

Dr. Sanders has also served as an adjunct professor at Howard University, North Carolina Central University, and Northern Virginia Community College. Dr. Sanders’ current research is focused on issues surrounding HIV transmission, substance use, internalized racism and heterosexism/homophobia, and mental health in African American MSM.

Dr. Sanders is deeply invested in working with clients who have experienced discrimination due to their race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, and sexual identity. Dr. Sanders uses a combination of therapies to provide his clients with the support they need to be successful in life.
