Psychology AssociateDr. Paul Meenu is a postdoctoral fellow at The MECCA Group LLC, Washington DC, providing client-focused and culturally relevant psychological, therapeutic, and rehabilitative mental health services for individuals, families and organizations in the Washington, DC area. He has an extensive background in clinical psychology, special education, business, and Christian counseling. Dr. Meenu is well-trained and grounded in empathic counseling, bringing hope and comfort to distressed and traumatized clients.
a consummate professional, Dr. Meenu obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition, he holds a Doctor of Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary, Camila, Georgia, USA, a Master of Art in Teaching – Special Education (K-12) from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA USA, a Master of Philosophy in Adult Education from the University of Ghana, a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Cape Coast (Central University), Ghana.
Meenu is also a certified pastoral counselor, and an educator of children with special needs. Dr. Meenu has a warm and calming personality and is equipped to work from a spiritual framework to provide skilled psychological services to interested clients in distress.
Dr. Meenu employs industry-tested orientations, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT), Play Therapy, Mindfulness, and other time-tested frameworks to serve his clients’ psychological needs.
Dr. Meenu’s clinical areas of expertise include Trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, gambling addiction, schoolwork avoidance, ADHD and social skills deficits, emotional and behavioral disabilities, self-harm, marital challenges, divorce and grief/loss and mental health counseling. He loves working with children, adolescents as well as adult population.
Dr. Meenu enjoys spending time with family, traveling, watching soccer games, preaching in church, playing the piano, and singing in church.
