Mickaela J.S. Nicholson, MHS
Psychology Associate/ PsychometristMickaela Nicholson is currently a registered psychology associate in Maryland. Mickaela completed an internship in Baltimore, MD at Kennedy Krieger Institute in the Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress. She earned a Master of Health Science degree from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health with a specialization in Cancer and Reproductive Biology and is a doctoral candidate at Howard University’s Clinical Psychology Program. She has years of experience administering comprehensive neuropsychological assessments as well as evaluations for cognitive impairment and dementia. Mickaela has performed testing in both outpatient and inpatient environments including those with complex medical conditions, moderate to severe head trauma, and history of oncological treatment. She has also worked in the DC and Maryland public school systems assessing students’ cognitive abilities, academic functioning, behavior, and social-emotional functioning. Currently, she is based at the MECCA Group, LLC, while practicing school-based services across multiple Public Charter Schools in DC and Maryland.
Ms. Nicholson has specific interests and specialties in assessment and evaluation as well as how trauma and attachment impact the individual and family system. Her main area of interest is focused on supporting family’s needs to promote healing and growth.
