Clara Aragón, PhDPsychology Associate
Clara Aragón has a BS in Education with specialties in Spanish and Early Childhood from McMurry University, a Master’s in Bilingual Education from the University of Texas and a second Masters from Texas A & M University in Counseling and Guidance. In August 2019 she completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Saybrook University. Clara’s pre-doctoral internship involved extensive training in psychiatric state hospitals providing psychometric and therapeutic services in the treatment of mood and personality disorders, specifically within culturally diverse populations. She was awarded an additional pre-doctoral internship at the University of Texas, a college Hispanic Serving Institution, where her bilingualism and cultural knowledge was utilized in serving Latina/o/x college student populations. Following her graduation in August 2019, Dr. Aragon was awarded a postdoctoral fellow at MECCA where she is currently providing psychometric and therapeutic services.
Clara has previously worked as a bilingual teacher and as a school counselor. She enjoys working with families and schools to better understand the psycho-social-cultural-cognitive perspectives of mental health, cultural wealth, parent-school relationships, and academic modifications so that children can experience success.
In her free time she enjoys Cultural Arts/Theatre, sustainable gardening, Pranic Twin Hearts Meditation, and enjoys learning about culture and religion.
