Chiquanna Anderson, MEd
Psychology InternMs. Anderson is based at the MECCA Group, LLC as a predoctoral psychology intern practicing school-based services across multiple public charter schools in D.C. Chi-Chi earned a master’s in education and human development at The George Washington University. She was a licensed special educator in D.C. and Maryland teaching students of various disabilities, such as high and low-functioning autism, conduct disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), and other emotional and behavioral needs. After two years of teaching, she decided to pursue her doctorate degree and has experience working with children and adolescents, practicing various therapeutic modalities and psychological assessments, and assessing students’ academic and socio-emotional functioning.
Ms. Anderson has specific interests and specialties in assessment, education, therapy, and evaluation, in addition to working with children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, language disorders, learning disabilities, and emotional and behavior disabilities. Her main area of interest is focused on supporting students’ emotional and behavioral needs to achieve academic success in urban school settings.
