Ana C. Gardano, PhDClinical Psychologist
Dr. Gardano has 30 years of experience working as a licensed, Clinical Psychologist in the D.C. area. She worked in both public and private settings, including her own private practice. Throughout these experiences, she gained a broad spectrum of experiences in short and long-term psychotherapy, crisis intervention and administration. As a DC School Psychologist for 16 years, Dr. Gardano conducted psychological assessments with children and adolescents from a variety of cultures and races. She also conducts neuropsychological assessments with school-aged children. Most recently, she shared her vast knowledge and experience as Adjunct Professor in various psychology graduate programs.
Early in her career, Dr. Gardano’s strong commitment and experience with culturally-diverse families led her to design and participate in symposia and continuing education workshops at local, national and international conferences, and her work has been featured in psychology publications.
Dr. Gardano received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University in 1988 and is also certified as a School Neuropsychologist. Additionally, Dr. Gardono obtained an M.A. degree in Art Therapy (1979) from the School of Education at New York University.
Since 2015, Dr. Gardano has worked with The MECCA Group conducting assessments, psychoeducational workshops and supervision.
