  • Certified School Psychologist
  • Specialty Population(s): Children and Adolescents
  • Specialty Area(s): Psychoeducational Evaluations, Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and School Based Behavioral Interventions.
Linsey is a school psychologist with certifications in the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY (2009) and completed her Master’s Degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology at the University at Buffalo (2012). Linsey’s work experiences have allowed her the opportunity to serve students in grades Pre-K through 12 in urban, suburban, and rural educational settings.

During Linsey’s graduate studies, she applied for and was awarded a diversity supplement through The National Institute of Child and Human Development. The supplement provided funding to include her as a graduate research assistant on a current project “Improving parenting capacity to promote safe driving for adolescents with ADHD”. The award allowed for various mentoring opportunities including one-on-one training and supervision from a licensed clinical psychologist. While working on the larger project, Linsey also completed an individual research project, which included coding videos of interactions between teens and their parents in order to compare mother-teen dyads to father-teen dyads. Her independent study aimed to investigate whether differences in parenting or teen behavior were significantly different across dyads.

Linsey has been working as a school psychologist for the past 5 years. She has a specific interest in understanding how socio-economic factors and familial relationships affect the academic success of children of underserved, ethnic minority, and low-income communities. Linsey’s areas of specialty include school-based psychoeducational assessment, learning disabilities, ADHD, and school-based behavioral interventions. In her spare time, Linsey enjoys reading, traveling, and going back to her hometown of Syracuse, NY to spend time with family, especially her 7 nieces and nephews.
